Role Summary/Purpose  
The A&P Technician will work with the team to conduct preflight and post flight inspections on B747 aircraft, refuel aircraft, reposition aircraft, repair any aircraft systems written up during flight, perform aircraft maintenance checks, assist in aircraft modifications & remove and replace aircraft pylons and engines.
Essential Responsibilities          
  • Certified A&P mechanic with five years hands on experience
  • Perform sheet metal work unsupervised
  • Conduct systems troubleshooting to repair systems written up by flight crew
  • Complete all documentation / paper work in a neat and proficient manner according to Company policies and procedures, as well as per FAR 145
  • Perform any other task as assigned by the Station Manager or Lead Technician
  • Perform maintenance & modifications on aircraft
  • Install, inspect, test, adjust, or repair test engine and pylon
  • Set up and operate test equipment to perform functional test aircraft systems
  • Lay out installation of assemblies / systems in aircraft, according to blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • . General knowledge of Boeing wide body aircraft and its subsystems a must.
  • Be able to demonstrate a complete knowledge of the use of maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, component overhaul manuals, engine manuals, service bulletins and airworthiness directives.
  • Have the ability to perform flight control, landing gear, and engine rigging procedures.
  • Have the ability to troubleshoot and perform system tests.
  • Be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of the B747-100 & B747-400
  • Willingness to accomplish all jobs that are not beyond the candidate’s technical ability.
  • Take and ask for direction. Have mechanical aptitude and common sense.
  • Perform the highest quality of work consistently. Perform non-technical jobs with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to fill out, parts tags, log book, engineering log, component change log, routine and non-routine task cards and part requisitions correctly and with attention to detail.
  • Be willing to mentor entry level mechanics.
  • Must be able to maintain work quality at all times.
  • Demonstrate a complete knowledge of personal and environmental safety policies and procedures.
  • Have the ability to operate 400hz power units, hydraulic mule and air start units.
  • Certified to operate cherry pickers, man lifts, small and large tugs, small and large forklifts. Have knowledge of the operation of cranes.
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability and willingness to work in an environment that is subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels
  • Valid A&P License
Desired Characteristics   
  • Two year technical degree
  • Demonstrated ability to train others
  • Knowledgeable of FAR145 Repair Station Procedures
  • Experience working on wide body Boeing aircraft
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety
  • Problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and understand Company and Manufacturer Manuals
  • Ability to perform all line maintenance functions unsupervised at any time
1st shift: 6 am - 2:45 pm

Desired: 747 Level I or III Training
